The overseas investment from Yunnan Province reached $243 million in the first half of the year, an increase of 83.6 percent year-on-year, boosted by the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement inked early this year, according to a statement on the Ministry of Commerce website Tuesday.

The investment for the whole year is expected to exceed $400 million, with Burma, Laos and Vietnam becoming the province’s top investment destinations.
