People can’t get enough of it, despite the fact that they’re all surprised by what it smells like. Featuring tropical fruit and sugared citron tones, Volcano is a warm and inviting aroma. Because the tropical undertones make the perfume smell softer and more delicate than the typically bright, acidic scent that consumers typically associate with citrus fruits.

Capri Blue’s Volcano Candle

A volcanic candle is a reference to Capri Blue’s Volcano Candle when asked what it is. Because of its distinctive design and eye-catching cobalt blue color, the Capri Blue classic is a cult favorite. In addition, the volcano’s distinctive citrus and sweet overtones make it a pleasant drink.

You don’t have to go thousands of miles to experience the bliss of a perfumed paradise. For a tropical and enchanting aroma, fill your home with the scent of this instantly recognizable fragrance. Many of Anthropologie’s candles are exceptional in their own way.

You won’t be able to get enough of Capri Blue’s Volcano’s wonderful aroma. To be sure, if you’ve ever been in one of Anthro’s boutiques, you’re familiar with the aroma. Even if you don’t mention the word “Volcano” when referring to Capri Blue, it’s clear to everyone what you’re referring to.

Even if you don’t have a candle lit, the fragrance fills the space. When it’s lit, everything looks and feels brighter, warmer, and more serene. Tropical fruits, citrus, and a tinge of sugar are all present, yet it’s not overly sweet and appears to work throughout the year.

The variety of candle jars available is even better than the aroma. Non-candle versions, including as oil diffusers, hand soap, and more, are also available. This allows you to experience Volcano without having to mix scents, which is a personal goal of mine.

The Definitive Guide to Anthropologie’s Classic Candles

In spite of the convenience and easiness of internet shopping, Anthropologie is one of those stores that we’ll always wait in line for. There is an experience to be had when shopping at the retailer’s whimsical, detail-oriented shops, owing to the soundtrack, the visual displays, and of course, the candles. How many people haven’t taken a few minutes to admire the scents of several candles at the store? It’s called self-care.

When it comes to candles, I’ve worked at Anthropologie for the better part of five years, including as a full-time employee. Every time I worked a shift during the day, I had a great time finding and lighting all those candles; every time I worked a nighttime shift, my heart sank as I made sure to blow them all out. There are constantly new candles available at Anthro, but there are a few tried-and-true favorites that you can count on finding in every location. As a person who believes in giving back to the community, I’ve chosen to spotlight these collections and offer some of my vast and invaluable expertise with you all. To get a fuller picture of what Anthro has to offer in terms of fragrances, look through the complete candle category on their website.

Capri Blue Volcano Candle

The candle that sparked a thousand businesses. ” Anthropologie stores must have this candle burning at all times for this very reason: it makes them smell amazing. As a result, what is it about this candle that makes it so recognizable? This scent is described as having a “lightly exotic mountain green” scent by Anthro’s website. In other words: it makes you think of all the places you’d rather be but aren’t. It’s easy to overlook Capri Blue’s Aloha Orchid, which has been a favorite at Anthropologie for as long as its Volcano counterpart.

When I worked at Anthro for many years, I never once encountered somebody who enjoyed both odors equally; it was either one or the other (if there are any researchers out there who specialize in smell, the public demands answers). Because of its nearly universal appeal and variety, this was always the candle that I sent customers who were stymied on a gift to. There are other options if you don’t want to pay $30 on the trademark mercury jar. There are a variety of models to choose from, including pearl white, iridescent, and smaller (and cheaper) tins. You can’t seem to get enough? Volcano-scented hand cream and bar soap are available for purchase. If you’re looking for anything other than Volcano and Aloha Orchid, Capri Blue also sells a few seasonal candles (like the Lagoon smell right now). The complete collection is available for viewing here.

Boulangerie Jar

Although I’m not typically a fan of food-themed candles, I must admit that the Boulangerie line is an exception. For the record, I think the Sweet Vanilla Cinnamon candle displayed above is my favorite ever, but unfortunately it is a seasonal smell and won’t be available until fall. The year-round favorites, such as Angel Food and Whipped Cream & Pear, are just as wonderful. In spite of their diminutive stature, these candles pack a powerful punch and immediately fill your home with the aromas you crave. You can extend the life of your candle by leaving it burning for an hour or two.

The Boulangerie Jar is available for purchase for $18.

Voluspa Candle

Elegant and regal, Voluspa is the Anthro candle family matriarch. Candles from Voluspa, unlike Volcano, don’t clamor for attention, but their rich smells and beautiful glass jars make them stand out from the crowd. The Voluspa candles are what I want to be when I’m older. You can’t go wrong with any of these scents, but the Baltic Amber is the best of the bunch (a little sexual combination of sandalwood and cedar). Goji Tarocco Orange has always been a favorite of mine (a fresh aroma reminiscent of a more exotic Volcano), but I’ve met plenty of people who love Mokara as well (orchid, white lily, and spring moss). Although the full-sized versions are more expensive, you may save $10 by purchasing the mini versions, which are just as exciting to try out in-store. When the candle is gone, the jar doubles as a handy storage container.

The Voluspa Candle, which costs $30, is an excellent choice.

Spring’s Eden Tin Candle

The Spring’s Eden candles are a more recent addition to Anthro’s classics, and they’ve been mostly overlooked. They don’t stick out as much as the others, but they have their own unique appeal. Choose from Red Berry Amber (bright and fresh), Pomegranate Peony (essentially the essence of summer), Coconut Milk Mango (my personal favorite—again, a tropical vibe), and Wild Honeysuckle (the most popular in my opinion) (soft and florally; also pretty popular). Spring’s Eden candles, in my opinion, are best suited for people who only burn candles for company or those who simply prefer a more subtle scent. I think this is a bit harsh because these candles are just fine; it’s just that they’re not as thrilling as the others.

Spring’s Eden Tin Candle, $26, is a great choice.

Good Natured Soy Jar Candle

The Good Natured candles, another recent favorite, have been reimagined since my days at Anthro. The updated ceramic jar is quite stunning, and it can be used as both a candle and a storage container. There are some unexpected pairings in this collection, but they are usually intriguing and often well-received. Avocado & Mint, a kitchen-inspired smell that’s not overbearing, is the most popular in my opinion. The perfume of Apricot & Basil appears to elicit a lot of discussion—some people enjoy it, while others find it a little too herbaceous. Because of their small size and three wick construction, these candles burn quite quickly, so if you like them, you might want to buy a few extras.
